Why it is so hard to turn away from news on Israeli Palestine conflict?
By now , most everyone in the world with access to at least a cell phone has heard of the current war happening in the Palestine region of the Middle East. It is a brutal, barbaric display of humanity at play right now in the birthplace of Jesus. There are so many aspects to this conflict, perspectives and ramifications, that it would probably take ten articles to address how and what I think about this situation. I realize those are ten articles I would probably not write just because of how much is connected to every piece and facet of this conflict. The evidence is before us with the high profiled firing of people in countries across the globe, “ Be mindful of how you express your opinions”. Freedom of speech is for certain people only. War is a nasty affair. We’re talking blood, death, gore. Were talking mass sexual assaults, suicide, bombings, ash and destruction. War as experienced in real time has to be some outer worldly experience that cannot even fully be understood by someone who hasn’t experienced it. At the end of the day it is an upsetting, sad, depressing enraging event for most people. It is scary as hell to be confronted with the news of so much human brutality. You feel powerless and anxious about what will happen next.
